DEATH OF A WELL KNOWN VOCALIST. Miss Alice M. Beaumont, younger daughter of Mr. Joseph Beaumont, of Queens Square Huddersfield, who died on Sunday morning last, was well known as a soprano vocalist in local musical circles. She had been ill for about four months, and had undergone an operation in Leeds Infirmary on Friday last week. She was formerly a member of the co-operative choir, and had been attached to the choir of the New North Road Baptist Church for many years. Miss Beaumont was a member of the chorus of the last Leeds Festival, and had appeared as a soprano singer on special occasions at various chapels in the Huddersfield district. She was a member of the Baptist Church at Birkby. The funeral took place on Wednesday at the Huddersfield Cemetery. A short service was held at the Birkby Baptist Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Henry Townsend. A large number of beautiful wreaths were sent, amongst them being tributes from Madame Effie Thomas (Bromley), Dr F Thornton and her friend Rosie (Luton).
